Full-service provider Magenta Telekom, which was formed in 2019 from the merger of mobile operator T-Mobile Austria and cableco UPC Austria, is enabling 5G access across all of its smartphone tariffs. The Mobile S, M and L plans all now include 5G as standard and the data volume has also been increased by 5GB while the price remains the same. Available at more than 2,000 locations, Magenta’s 5G network currently reaches half of all Austrian households and businesses, with coverage set to increase to 55% by the end of the year. Overall, Magenta is investing EUR1 billion in the expansion of its fixed and mobile networks by 2025.
