Maroc Telecom announced that it is carrying out final technical tests before launching its LTE service on July 13 and will quickly provide coverage for all the main cities of the provinces, the rail network, motorways and major main roads, reports Telecompaper.com on July 1, 2015. In a statement, Maroc Telecom said its 4G+ service will be provided without the need for a new SIM card, at no additional costs and without any contract changes for customers. The service will be activated automatically and clearly for customers with a compatible device. The operator writes that LTE, the most advanced version of fourth generation technology, enables connection speeds of 225 Mbps, 1.5 times faster than those enabled by 4G. It adds that it paid double the minimum price set for the license auction in order to obtain the best 4G frequencies.
