Airspan Networks is a lead partner in the ‘AutoAir’ project selected as one of six 5G testbeds by the UK Government. The project will focus on developing a neutral host based small cell system for transportation networks in the UK.
The AutoAir project will accelerate the development and deployment of both 5G and Connected Autonomous Vehicles (CAV) technology. Other consortium members include the University of Surrey’s 5G Innovation Centre, Dense Air, McLaren Applied Technologies, Blu Wireless Technology, Quortus, Millbrook, Real Wireless, ARM, Cobham Wireless and Celestia Technologies.
Initial application will focus on providing pervasive 5G connectivity at the Millbrook Proving Ground to enable CAV developers and research companies to accelerate testing. The Millbrook network will provide access to existing mobile operators on a shared/neutral host basis.
