Swedish communications regulator PTS said in response to queries on the matter that the auction of 700 MHz spectrum will start on 04 December as had been planned. It expects the auction to last for between two and ten days, but it could go on for longer. PTS will name the bidders once the auction is completed.
PTS had already stated in September that it would stick to its timetable in spite of a legal appeal by 3 Sweden. Tre said in July that it was going to the administrative law court in Stockholm, as the auction terms could shut it out of the 5G market, violate EU directives, government instructions to the regulator and the PTS’ own competition rules to promote competition.
