China’s first 5G subway station has gone into service in Chengdu, China.org reported. The move follows the opening of the country’s first 5G demonstration block in the city last year. The 5G base station was installed by Sichuan Mobile at the Taipingyuan Station of the city's Subway line 10. A high-speed Wi-Fi signal covers the entire station hall.
The indoor network is the first in China based on the 2.6GHz frequency range.
