ZTE said it will present four Big Video products at IBC 2019 in Amsterdam, including a 5G Live TV system, a 5G+8K service, an operator tier customised IPTV dual-ecosystem and smart home voice command services.
ZTE’s 5G Live TV system can provide viewers with three distinctive 5G scenarios, including multi-angle views, flexible zooming, and free viewpoint. It has been used at China’s first 5G sporting events, the 2nd National Youth Games, solving the problem of limited viewing angles, for example.
Regarding the 5G+8L service, ZTE will provide visitors at IBC with an HD and 8K video experience, taking advantage of its 8K smart set-top box’s strong decoding technology and high CDN throughput capability.
As for the integration of OTT and IPTV, ZTE will showcase a customised 4K hybrid set-top box for operators, integrated with IPTV and the Google ecosystem. This means the box can provide users with a wide range of Google apps, such as Google Music and Google Games, allowing them to enjoy both the IPTV and OTT services at the same time.
Finally, ZTE will demonstrate its far-field 4K AI STB S200 in support of voice commands for the smart home. The S200 is an all-in-one home assistant that harnesses IPTV/OTT services, smart speaker, home control, home media sharing, and home networking. The company will show other set top boxes at IBC, including the new Dongle STB, 4K IP Media Gateway supporting Wi-Fi AP, and the cost-effective satellite STB and cable STB.
