Digi, Huawei Continue Partnership for Development of Telecom Technology in Romania, Hungary

Romania-based Digi and Huawei renewed their partnership for the development of technology in the field of electronic communications both in Romania as well as in Hungary, according to Romanian publication Hotnews.ro citing a statement signed by both companies. The agreement especially focuses on infrastructure for mobile telephony networks.

Digi said it will continue to develop the mobile network in Hungary by extending the partnership signed with Huawei. The collaboration over the 15 years of partnership contributed to technological progress in the region, both in terms of fixed and mobile services, and will bring customers access to high quality mobile connectivity, Digi said. 

Digi's Romanian unit RCS&RDS launched its first 5G radio stations in the capital Bucharest, with equipment from the Ericsson, at the end of June 2019. The company also conducted network equipment tests with Huawei. The first Huawei pieces of equipment will be put into operation for commercial use during the 15-21 June week. Subsequently, the Nokia partner equipment will be tested and installed.
