Verizon announced the launch of its 5G Home Internet service in Detroit. This is the sixth city to benefit from the fixed-wireless service, which starts at USD 50 per month for Verizon mobile customers and USD 70 for others.

The service comes with a Wi-Fi 6 router with voice controls via Amazon Alexa. Customers also receive YouTube TV for one month, Disney+ for one year and gaming on Google Stadia for three months, at no additional cost. They can also receive a free Stream TV, Verizon's 4K media player, for watching additional OTT media.

Verizon said it also enhanced the 5G internet service for customers in Los Angeles and Indianapolis. The company plans to expand the mmWave service to ten cities in 2020.
