Overview

The R&S CMW-ATE, NetOP protocol test solution supports all areas of protocol, VoLTE and IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) testing on the basis of the versatile hardware platform R&S CMW500. Testing the performance of a device under realistic network conditions is necessary to ensure high quality products and outstanding service delivery. An important additional test area is the verification of market specific requirements, i.e. network operator specific test specifications (like e.g. China Mobile NS-IOT). • Cost efficiency A flexible and modular test solution is required to cover all test areas and provide a cost-efficient solution. Re-usability of hardware for the test areas are the key to provide an overall test solution which serves testing of IMS and VoLTE signaling over audio quality up to performance testing. • Coverage of all RATs and bands by one unit Based on this demand, the R&S test solution for IMS and VoLTE is based on the R&S CMW500 mobile radio tester as core unit. It covers all major mobile communication technologies and frequency bands, including TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA in a single box (which is a clear advantage over other offerings). VoLTE testing on MMMB devices is not just an option, it is a design concept. Network operators, test houses and manufacturers of user equipment can verify the protocol stack and the IMS client implementation and ensure correct signaling with the R&S NetOp test solution in a very efficient way in the lab.

• Coverage of all testing areas:
The R&S VoLTE test solution based on the R&S CMW500 covers and supports all VoLTE and IMS related test areas from protocol to performance testing. This allows customers to reuse the core hardware and software in the test area where it is currently needed and as a result minimize capital expenses.
• Coverage of all RATs:
Testing RAN protocol VoLTE protocol up to VoLTE performance can be accomplished over all bands and RATs (TD-LTE, FDD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, GSM) with one R&S CMW500 unit as core of the R&S VoLTE test solution. This allows customers to also verify InterRAT, roaming scenarios or scenarios without (Voice over) LTE coverage (CSFB – circuit fallback; SRVCC – Single Radio Voice call continuity). Additionally benchmarking between VoLTE and legacy voice implementation is possible.
