Moto G LTE to launch in Germany despite patent ruling

2014-07-14 14:38:11| Source:

Motorola plans to launch the Moto G LTE in Germany on July 21 for 199 EUR, following a prohibition against the sale of the basic version, the Moto G, in the country, Telcompaper.com reported on July 11, 2014. The Mannheim Regional Court ordered Motorola to stop selling phones in Germany that infringe laser specialist LPKF\'s laser direct structuring (LDS) patent. Teltarif said the original Moto G was also criticized for its relatively small internal storage of 8 GB and said the LTE version has a memory card slot.

The LTE function means the handset is a little pricier than its predecessor, which started at 169 EUR. It supports frequencies of 2,600 MHz, 2,100 MHz, 1,800 MHz, 900 MHz and 800 MHz, thus theoretically enabling surfing speeds of up to 100 Mbps. The design is the same as the original Moto 3, and the phone runs on Android Kitkat.
