Omnitel LTE network reaches 65% of population
Lithuanian mobile operator Omnitel continued the expansion of its LTE network in order to reach the 65 percent of the country\'s residents that it covered as of mid-July, Telecompaper.com reported on July 15, 2014. New LTE base stations have been built in Utena, Anyksciai, Birzai, Rokiskis, Kupiskis, Zarasai, Pasvalys, Joniskis, Vabalninkas, Linkuva, Pakruojis, Trakai, Juodsiliai, Jieznas, Giruliai and Traku-Voke, as well as in Vilnius and Kaunas. Omnitel provides LTE services over the 800 MHz and 1,800 MHz bands. The operator also completed its 3G network upgrade project in June, covering the area of the entire country.
