MediaTek has announced the 64-bit MT6795 Octa-core LTE smartphone SoC with the world\'s first 2k display support, reported Telecompaper.com on July 15, 2014. The company expects the flagship product to be the first 64-bit octa-core SoC with speeds of up to 2.2 GHz to hit the market. It becomes commercially available at the end of this year.

The company designed the product to push high-end device makers into the Android 64-bit era. The MT6795 features MediaTek\'s CorePilot technology and a dual-channel LPDDR3 clocked at 933 MHz for high-end multi-processor performance, as well as thermal control and memory bandwidth. In addition to supporting 120 Hz displays, the device both creates and plays back 480 frame-per-second, 1080-pixel HD slow-motion videos.
