China Telecom plans to invest 13.2 billion yuan (＄2.12 billionin) 4G infrastructure in 2014, Telecompaper.com reported on July 18, 2014. The operator recently launched a TD-LTE/LTE FDD dual-mode 4G trial operation in 16 Chinese cities. China Telecom became one of three TD-LTE licenses in December 2013 and obtained an additional license for LTE FDD trial operation in June 2014. According to the report, China Telecom aims to invest over CNY100 billion to deploy TD-LTE/LTE FDD networks over the next three years.
