Argentine mobile operators are expected to provide 4G LTE coverage to all provincial capitals and cities with over 100,000 inhabitants by 2016, Telecompaper.com reported on July 23, 2014. The government of Argentina expects to award 4G spectrum on October 31. According to the bidding conditions, winning operators will have a maximum of 18 months to deploy LTE infrastructure in these cities. The government plans to award 90MHz of spectrum in the 700MHz band as well as another 90MHz in AWS (1.7-2.1GHz). The government also expects to award additional 3G spectrum in both 850MHz and 1,900MHz bands. The country\'s current mobile operators are Claro, Personal and Movistar.
