Russian operator Base Telecom has tested Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology on its LTE network, reported Telecompaper.com on July 23, 2014. The operator also plans to introduce the Rich Communication Services (RCS) technology enabling various multimedia services. The RCS technology will enable the operator to offer HD Video Calls, RCS Location Information and RCS Presence solutions. Both VoLTE and RCS technologies have been tested on Moscow’s Base Telecom network, which is based on equipment from Huawei.
