Sequans increases sales 116% to $5.1 million in Q2
Mobile device chipmaker Sequans Communications reported $5.1 million in revenue in the second quarter, up 116 percent compared to the second quarter of 2013, due to higher sales of products for LTE markets, reported Telecompaper.com on July 25, 2014. The company’s gross margin was flat at 41.3 percent, versus 41.1 percent. Despite higher operating expenses mainly related to product development costs, Sequans narrowed its operating loss to $8.7 million from $9.2 million. The company’s second quarter net loss came in at $8.7 million, or $0.15 per diluted share, compared to $9.1 million, or $0.20 EPS, in the second quarter of 2013.
Sequans CEO said the home/portable router business is providing a growing base of revenue, and shipments have begun for a mobile computing design win targeting a fourth quarter launch in the US.
