Vodafone Germany deployed Huawei\'s eLTE solution during Kieler Woche, one of the largest sailing events in the world, reported Telecompaper.com on July 25, 2014. During the event, stable transmissions from the competing boats to provide live footage of the races was needed, and using two of Huawei\'s DBS3900 distributed base stations across the race course a LTE-based network was deployed. The footage was then transmitted to mobile phones and tablets in the audience stand via an enhanced Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (eMBMS) that was supported by Vodafone Germany\'s LTE carrier network. No financial details were disclosed.
