Orange France revenue declines 4.2% to 4.8 billion euro in Q2

Orange France saw its revenue decline by 4.2 percent to 4.8 billion euro ($6.44 billion) in the second quarter from 5.02 billion euro in the second quarter of 2013, an improvement on a 5 percent decrease in the first quarter, Telecompaper.com reported on July 29, 2014.

Mobile service revenue fell by 9.5 percent to 1.93 billion euro in the second quarter, affected by price reductions related to updated Origami, Open and Sosh offers and by the growth of SIM-only subscriptions. Mobile equipment sales dropped by 1.3 percent to 111 million euro. Net contract sales rose by 146,000 in the first half, the best performance since the first half of 2010.

Orange France’s fixed services saw revenue decrease by 0.1 percent to 2.65 billion euro in the second quarter, including fixed retail down 4.2 percent to 1.65 billion euro and fixed wholesale up 8.1 percent to 996 million euro. Fixed broadband revenue decreased 0.9 percent in the second quarter, after rising by 0.6 percent in the first quarter.
