ETSI, CCSA renew coordination on ICT standards
The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and its Chinese counterpart, the China Communications Standards Association (CCSA), have renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), extending a relationship first established 10 years ago, according to Telecompaper.com on July 29, 2014. The renewal enables CCSA and ETSI to share information on their work in order to contribute to the development of globally-aligned standards for ICT. The renewed agreement was signed during the Global Standards Collaboration (GSC) meeting in Sophia Antipolis, an annual gathering of senior representatives of the world\'s leading ICT standards organizations.
CCSA and ETSI already work together in 3GPP, the Third Generation Partnership Project, developing 3G and 4G LTE mobile standards. They are also founding partners in oneM2M, the global standards initiative for M2M Communications and Internet of Things. The new agreement ensures alignment between the two organizations on technical areas with a global impact, such as critical communications and network and information security.
