Bolivian mobile telephony operator Viva expects to complete the deployment of 300 new base stations in August, Telecompaper.com reported on July 29, 2014. In April, the operator had announced an investment of $100 million to expand its mobile network across the country.

Through this investment, Viva plans to expand its mobile infrastructure by over 50 percent this year, as well as deploy LTE technology. Viva currently has approximately 2.5 million subscribers. Bolivia reached 10.7 million mobile telephony lines by the end of May 2014, up compared to 2.7 million in May 2008, according to figures from the country\'s telecoms regulator ATT.
