Kazakhstan operator Altel, a subsidiary of the national operator Kazakhtelecom, announced that it will stop serving its Jet service subscribers in the cities of Taraz, Kyzylorda, Kostanay, Pavlodar, Petropavlovsk, Uralsk, Taldykorgan and Kokshetau from September 6, according to Telecompaper.com on Sept 3, 2014. The decision was taken due to the launch of the GSM/UMTS network there, and subscribers are offered to switch to LTE services from the operator under special conditions. LTE modems are offered for 550 tenge when returning 3G modems.
