U Mobile to deploy 2,000 additional 3G and 4G LTE sites
Malaysian mobile operator U Mobile will deploy 2,000 new 3G & 4G LTE sites. The project will include the deployment of 1,000 3G and 1,000 4G LTE sites, Telecompaper.com reported on Sept 9. With a total investment of MYR 1.5 billion, the deployment is scheduled for completion by end-2015. Once the upgrade is complete, the expanded network will cover key cities and strategic areas within Malaysia, including Wilayah Persekutuan, Selangor, Seremban, Port Dickson, Nilai, Ipoh, Lumut, Penang, Johor Bahru, Muar, Kluang, Segamat and Batu Pahat.
