Sky Brasil launches TD-LTE service in Franca
Brazilian pay-TV operator Sky Brasil has extended its broadband service to the city of Franca (Sao Paulo), after initially launching it in Brasilia. The operator is using fourth generation TD-LTE (Time Division Duplex Long Term Evolution) technology, which brings broadband to residential subscribers via a wireless network. Access is via 4G modem, which captures the signal and distributes it in the home, via Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable. Sky Broadband offers two speed options – 2 Mbps and 4 Mbps – and one does not have to be a Sky Brasil pay-TV subscriber to use it. Sky Brasil uses the 2.5 GHz frequency for the service.
