The 42nd GTI Workshop
Report in Collaboration with the GSMA Highlights Best Practice from National 5G Plans

The 42nd GTI Workshop was held on March 1-2 in Barcelona, Spain, bringing together over 200 senior representatives and industry experts from international organizations including GSMA, 5G-ACIA, NGMN, global operators such as Orange, Telefónica, Turkcell, SoftBank, SK Telecom, and ecosystem partners. Participants explored key technologies and applications for 5G-A and AI integration.
Madam Huang Yuhong, the Secretary General of GTI, addressed the event by outlining GTI's enhanced positioning to deepen cross-domain innovation cooperation. She emphasized GTI's commitment to accelerating CT-IT-AI convergence through open collaboration platforms, while advancing its three strategic objectives and four technical programs to promote global 5G-A evolution and two-way empowerment with AI.
The workshop was carried out around four sessions: 5G Technology and Product, 5G-A×AI Development, 5G Enterprise Network Solutions, and Innovative Applications and Value Creation. In terms of 5G Technology and Products, discussions were focused on intelligent network optimization for consumer, low-altitude, and IoT scenarios, including AI Agent services development. Experts shared insights on 5G-A-enabled low-altitude digital economy ecosystems and RedCap low-cost solutions. The GTI Test Certification for Network Intelligence and Device Intelligence was released to accelerate global intelligent application scaling. In terms of 5G-A×AI Development, cutting-edge explorations covered device-side AI, mobile network digital twins, glasses-free 3D solutions, and end-network collaborative computing. Industry applications including AI-powered networks, intelligent connected vehicles, and humanoid robots were analyzed. The Network Computing Enabling Terminal and Network Coordination White Paper was unveiled, providing architectural references for 6G-oriented immersive communications and AI-agent scenarios. In terms of 5G Enterprise Network Solutions, in-depth technical discussions addressed ambient IoT standardization progress, novel applications, and converged coding/chip solutions. 5G private network evolution was analyzed through AI integration and lightweight deployment strategies. Two milestone initiatives, AIoT Global Unified Identity Cooperation Initiative and 5G Private Network Value Assessment System Cooperation Initiative, were jointly released to accelerate industrial digital transformation. In terms of Innovative Applications and Value Creation, cross-industry dialogues showcased 5G private network implementations in healthcare and enterprise sectors, value-added glasses-free 3D services, ambient IoT business models, and intelligent O&M cost optimization solutions.
An exhibition featured cutting-edge 5G-A solutions including RedCap wearable devices, the Integrated Micro gNB, Sigwell products, smart robots, and glasses-free 3D tablets, which demonstrated tangible progress in industrial innovation.
This gathering reinforced GTI's pivotal role in driving global 5G-A and AI convergence, establishing new technical benchmarks while accelerating commercial viability across multiple industries.
