Background:
With the continuous improvement of infrastructures in 5G networks, AI computing, and edge cloud, and the development of technologies such as high-definition video rendering, immersive high-interaction services such as XR and galss-free 3D have emerged. The characteristics of high immersion, strong interaction, and multi-dimensional multi-modality have higher requirements for network connections, urgently requiring cross-layer deep collaboration between networks and services.
Tasks:
1. End-to-end network and business integration for immersive communication services.
2.Research on multi-modal business models for immersive services such as XR, and research on network transmission models for different 3D content encoding methods.
3.Research on key technologies and functions for end-to-end network and business integration for specific immersive real-time services, such as large capacity guarantee, low latency transmission, and mobility enhancement.
4.A system of experience assessment indicators for immersive services, including a mapping model of business experience and network indicators.
5.Create pilot applications in typical scenarios such as culture and entertainment, sports, to explore business models.

Technical solutions, pilot applications, business models.

About the GTI 5G-A x AI Open Development Program
In Feb 2024 at MWC Barcelona, GTI launched the 5G-A×AI Development Program to promote the integrated innovation of 5G and AI in technology, business, ecology, and commerce, and two-way empowerment.
