Mr. Khanungdej Triratupathum

CTO

True

Mr. Khanungdej Triratupathum, CTO of True, remarked in his speech that continuous coverage of high user experience (like more than 100Mbps) is so important at initial 5G stage in urban areas, so they manage to have some kinds of new technologies to compensate the coverage gaps, such as Massive MIMO 64T64R. In the next three coming years, True is going to get more spectrums, promote reforming, and shut down some old technologies to coordinate among different technologies and spectrums.

For the application part, True expects 5G to bring in something new that has never been able to do in the 4G era. For example, individual users could experience VR, AR, and cloud gaming. For the home use, those kinds of FWA, with the speed of fiber-optics, can be also realized with 5G. And lastly, for the industrial areas, it also expects 5G to bring in some very reliable, low-latency kind of things, which can be used for critical IoT.
