Mr. Dong Xin, CEO of China Mobile, delivered a speech titled “Open a New Chapter for 5G Development, Achieve Win-win in the New Era of Intelligent Connectivity”. He shared the latest progress of China Mobile’s “5G+” Plan. In terms of network construction, over 140,000 5G base stations have been built, with 5G commercial services delivered in more than 50 cities across China, providing a sound telecom infrastructure for pandemic prevention, work resumption,scientific research on Mount Everest. In terms of industry standards, the 2.6GHz end-to-end industry has been developed from nothing to the current scale deployment,we further accelerated the maturity of SA standard. In terms of key capabilities, we released the “Jiu-tian Artificial Intelligence Platform”, IoT platforms have been among the industry’s first camp. In terms of ecological cooperation, the industry partners of 5G Joint Innovation CenterIndustry Digitalization Alliance exceeded 2,100, Ten-billion Ecological PlanTen-billion Sharing Plan were also launched. In terms of business applications, China Mobile adopts featured services such as UHD live streaming, cloud gamingcloud VR,promotes a wide range of applications, such as 5G smart factory, smart grid, smart ironsteel, as well as smart port.

Mr. Dong Xin stressed that 5G will become the information artery of society, an accelerator of industrial transformationupgrade,a new cornerstone of digital society. The development of 5G will drive a range of new emerging information technologies to be deeply integrated with the economysociety,foster digital economy to entera new era led by intelligence. To this end, China Mobile will strengthen the implementation of “5G+” Plan, accelerate the 5G for All,contribute further to the global 5G development.

First, speed up 5G networks deployment. We are aiming to increase the number of 5G base stations to over 300,000, reduce constructionoperation costs of 5G network,promote intelligent operation for networks. Second, promote further development of 5G devices. We will promote maturity of multi-mode, multi-bandmulti-form devices, support SANSA,multi-band such as 700MHz, 2.6GHz, 3.5GHz4.9GHz, to realize global roaming. Furthermore, accelerate the realization of 5G featured capabilities. We will strive to address bottleneck issues of SA commercialization, drive edge computing industry,enable access to network slicing end-to-end capabilities. Next is to achieve innovations in 5G business services. In regard to mass market, we will continue to enrich the “Five New” experiences in the way of video watching, Ring Back Tone listening, game playing, video shootingapplication using, accelerate scale development of 5G RCS services,develop internet finance applications based on “Super SIM”. As for the industry customers, we will collaborate with partners to establish industry standards, promote application innovation, create business models, to build more influential, replicable 5G application “prototype rooms”. At last, achieve win-win in 5G industry cooperation. We will promote industry collaboration, strengthen international cooperation in science, technologyindustry, to jointly expand global “5G+” ecosystem.
