Mr. Mats Granryd, Director General of GSMA, addressed in his speech that the theme of this year’s MWC is Intelligent Connectivity – the combination of 5G, AI, Big Datathe Internet of Things.

5G, along with AI, Big DataIoT will bring faster, richermore immersive experiences, which will not only help increase revenue of the industry, but also improve efficiencyproductivity for effective utilizing of limited resources. He added that according to GSMA predicts, 16 major markets will switch on commercial 5G networks in 2019, 5G connections will reach 1.4 billion15% of global mobile connections, meaning 30% of mobile connections are from Chinathe 5G revenue will reach $1.5 trillion by 2025. 

Now the industry needs to take responsibility for society to jointly promote the development goals of the United Nations. A number of leading operators have set their target for net zero emissions as early as 2030.  At the same time, GSMA has set up a leading group to share carbon emission methodsresults.
