China Mobile and the Indian operator Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) gave a joint demonstration of TD-LTE VoLTE high-definition video call, at the GTI Summit 2014, in Barcelona, Spain, on Feb 25. This was not only the first VoLTE interworking between two TD-LTE operators, but also the first time that it only takes two days to achieve VoLTE IOT test. Previously, China Mobile had done two trials with LTE FDD networks.

Mathew Oommen, president of RJIL’s Strategy, Network and Products, made the VoLTE HD video call to China Mobile’s exhibition booth. With this HD video call, attendees of GTI summit remotely experienced the exhibition of TD-LTE terminals, chipsets, RCS etc. from China Mobile’s booth. This VoLTE interworking demonstration will strengthen the confidence of whole industry and expedite the maturity and commercialization of VoLTE worldwide.
