During 2014 Mobile Asia Expo (MAE), Xi Guohua, Chairman of China Mobile, and Chang-Gyu Hwang, President of KT dialed the world’s first VoLTE roaming HD audio and video call, experienced VoLTE characteristics of shorter waiting time, better call quality and more user oriented. In order to provide better roaming solution to global 4G users, operators from China, Japan and South Korea established Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement (SCFA), its Technology and Roaming Work Group has demonstrated international LTE data roaming and VoLTE interworking. On Feb 25, 2014, SCFA officially launched two-way international 4G data roaming, paving the way for commercial validation of VoLTE international roaming and greatly improving the confidence of global operators in roaming to TD-LTE.

It is reported that China Mobile has launched international 4G data roaming service with eight operators in six countries or regions, and is conducting 4G data roaming tests with 15 operators. Now China Mobile is actively participating in launching 4G roaming with countries and regions that have commercialized 4G services in the world.
