Telia Estonia says its 5G network now covers one-third of the country’s population via 204 active base station sites. Its 5G infrastructure covers ‘almost all major cities and county centres, as well as many small towns and municipal centres’. The firm has started using its recently-won 3.5GHz licence, allowing it to offer download rates of up to 1Gbps.
Meanwhile, Telia has opened its 5G network to home and business users as an alternative to fixed broadband technologies. Two packages are available for residential customers, offering download rates of up to 100Mbps and up to 500Mbps, with upload rates of up to 25Mbps and 100Mbps respectively. Connection is via a 5G home router.
