China Radio and TV, which uses the English-language brand name China Broadnet, has extended its 5G network nationwide, CCTime writes, citing a speech delivered by a senior company official. 

Through its co-build and share deal with China Mobile the pair have deployed 578,000 700MHz 5G base stations, and Broadnet also has access to a further 3.8 million 4G/5G sites rolled out by China Mobile. 

The official went on to note that the provider had been granted permission to offer fixed voice services in December 2022 and it is now trialling the service in 14 provinces. Broadnet claimed a total of more than 16.8 million 5G subscriptions, alongside 200 million cable TV subscriptions, 80 million interactive TV users and 40 million broadcast TV customers.
