T-Mobile US has announced that it has achieved its year-end goal of covering 300 million people with its 2.5GHz ‘Ultra Capacity 5G’ network several months ahead of schedule. When combined with the cellco’s 600MHz ‘Extended Range’ 5G network, the network enhancements mean that T-Mobile’s overall 5G footprint now covers more than 330 million people, or 98% of the population.

TeleGeography notes that the Non Standalone (NSA) Ultra Capacity 5G network went live in April 2020, using spectrum inherited from the takeover of Sprint. A Standalone (SA) 2.5GHz 5G network went live in November 2022.
