Vodafone Portugal has started offering Internet packages that offer speeds of up to 10Gbps, which represents speeds ten times faster than current speeds.

Since Tuesday, April 23, 2024, Vodafone Portugal has been offering new fixed Internet speeds, which can reach up to 10Gbps. This represents a tenfold increase over the speeds previously offered.

10Gbps internet now available in Lisbon and Porto

To provide these high speeds, Vodafone Portugal will use state-of-the-art fiber optic technology, known as XGS-PON or 10G-PON, to provide very high internet speeds directly to consumers' homes, which can reach up to 10Gbps (10 Gigs ) download and upload . This technology allows a significant increase in speed and, on the other hand, helps to reduce latency, improving network stability.

However, this technology is currently only available in the two largest cities in Portugal, Lisbon and Porto. The good news is that Vodafone Portugal intends to expand this offer to other regions with fiber optic coverage soon.
