Wataniya Maldives adopts Ooredoo branding
Qatar-based Ooredoo group has announced that its mobile operation in the Maldives has now adopted the Ooredoo brand, becoming the first of the group\'s subsidiaries in Asia to take on the parent company\'s identity. Formerly known as Wataniya Maldives, the operator claimed 39% of the country\'s mobile market at the end of September 2013 according to TeleGeography\'s GlobalComms database, while Batelco subsidiary Dhivehi Raajjeyge Gulhun (Dhiraagu) has the remainder.
