Russian mobile operator Megafon plans to pay RUB 18 billion for unit Scarlet\'s LTE infrastructure, working under the Yota brand, reports Itar-Tass, citing Megafon spokesperson Yulia Dorokhina.

The management council of Megafon has included the issue into the schedule of the general shareholders meeting, which will take place on 7 February. Megafon currently uses the LTE network of Yota on a MVNO basis. Yota launched its LTE network in April 2012 as the first LTE network in Russia. Yota\'s retail LTE subscriber base totaled 605,000 in August, plus 43,000 corporate subscribers on the 4G network.
