The total number of LTE-enabled devices including frequency and carrier variants has reached 1,371 in 2013, according to a latest updated report from the GSA (Global Mobile Suppliers Association).

There were 705 new LTE user devices that were launched in the past year. The devices were produced by 132 manufacturers, a 52 percent, year-on-year.

The report also confirmed that smartphones accounts for 39 percent of total LTE devices and 99 percent of the LTE smartphones can operate on both 4G LTE and 3G networks. However, only 33 percent can operate on 42 Mbps DC-HSPA+ systems.

A total of 304 products can now operate in the LTE TDD (also known as TD-LTE) mode, a year-on-year increase of 180. More than 10 percent of commercial LTE networks have deployed the LTE TDD mode, according to GSA data published at the start of January.

The largest LTE device ecosystems for the FDD bands are: 2600 MHz band 7 (493 devices), 1800 MHz band 3 (483 devices), 2100 MHz band 20 (354 devices), 800 MHz band 1 (335 devices), 700 MHz bands 12, 17 (308 devices), AWS band 4 (303 devices), 700 MHz band 13 (261 devices), 850 MHz band 5 (243 devices), 900 MHz band 8 (205 devices), 1900 MHz band 2 (149 devices) and 1900 MHz band 25 (92 devices). As for the TDD bands, 2600 MHz band 38 has 215 devices, 2300 MHz band 40 (207 devices), 2600 MHz band 39 (81 devices), 1900 MHz band 41 (80 devices), and 2500 MHz bands 42, 43 (15 devices).
