TIM expands LTE network in Sicily, Marche regions
TIM said its LTE “Ultra Internet 4G” service covered 48 municipalities in the Sicily region at the beginning of August 2014, up from the 22 announced in March, reported Telecompaper.com on Aug 6, 2014. The company said the service, which offers theoretical maximum speeds of 100 Mbps for downloads and 50 Mbps for uploads, now also covers 45 municipalities in the Marche region, up from 23 in February. TIM\'s LTE network covered 1,138 Italian municipalities nationwide at the beginning of August, up from the 651 announced in February. The company expects to cover all cities with over 35,000 inhabitants by the end of 2014.
