Telcel\'s 4G coverage reaches 40 Mexican cities
Mexican mobile operator Telcel\'s 4G LTE service currently reaches 40 cities across the country, Telecompaper.com reported on Aug 19, 2014. The operator has recently launched LTE in Nueva Laredo. Telcel\'s total investments in the deployment of 4G and 3G network infrastructure reached $3.95 billion over the last three years, according to the report. The cities where Telcel offers 4G LTE are Acapulco, Aguascalientes, Apizaco, Cancun, Ciudad Juarez, Ciudad Victoria, Celaya, Chihuahua, Culiacan, Cuernavaca, Federal District, Durango, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Irapuato, Los Cabos, Leon, Mazatlan, Merida, Mexicali, Monclova, Monterrey, Morelia, Nogales, Nuevo Laredo, Pachuca, Puebla, Puerto Vallarta, Queretaro, Reynosa, Saltillo, San Luis Potosi, Tampico, Tijuana, Toluca, Torreon, Tuxtla Gutierrez, Veracruz, Villahermosa and Zacatecas. Telcel is fully owned by Mexican telecoms firm America Movil.
