Cisco implemented a Hotspot 2.0 platform to help the operator increase the total capacity of its mobile network, reported Telecompaper.com on Sept 1, 2014. This platform enables Orange Romania network\'s end-users to automatically use the mobile phone network as well as the Wi-Fi network of the operator when they are located in areas covered by an Orange Wi-Fi hotspot. The Hotspot 2.0 platform from Cisco enables Orange Romania to move a part of its traffic from its 3G and LTE networks on its Wi-Fi network, especially in areas with increased data traffic.
