Taiwan will start the second-stage auction of 4G mobile spectrum in the third quarter of 2015. It expects to receive bids from six 4G operators, Telecompaper.com reports on Sept 28, 2014. It expects to raise between TWD 15 billion (approximately $494 million) and TWD 30 billion ($989 million) from this auction. A total of 190 MHz of spectrum will be released, including 50 MHz for TDD-LTE technology and 140 MHz for FDD-LTE technology. As part of the first stage of Taiwan’s 4G auction held in 2013, 270 MHz of spectrum was released for mobile broadband use, Shih said.
