Kazakhstan operator Altel, a subsidiary of the national operator Kazakhtelecom, has launched its LTE network in the city of Semey, Telecompaper.com reports on Sept 29, 2014. Up to 100 Mbps broadband is accessible there. Altel prepares to launch LTE services in 11 additional cities and towns this year. Wi-Fi routers and USB modems which support LTE are available for sale in the shop of the operator in Semey. Altel offers subscribers with a 3G modem a LTE replacement device for KZT 550.
