Kazakhstan operator Altel, a subsidiary of the national operator Kazakhtelecom, has started commercial LTE services in the cities Kentau and Turkestan, Telecompaper.com writes on Nov 17. 2014. The operator also plans to stop providing its 3G services under the Jet brand there from 22 November. Altel offers LTE modems as a replacement to subscribers for KZT 550, available at dealers shops. Altel launched its LTE services in the cities of Almaty and Astana in December 2012.
