Release assignment for 3.5GHz

Representatives from SoftBank, UKB, Menatelecom, Ericsson and Avago joined the session and summarized the following opinions:

- - 3.5GHz is definitely the last golden spectrum in recent years. The release of large block of over 40MHz has become a trend in many countries which upgrade the user experience with top speed by the carrier aggregation and TDD/FDD convergence according to result of the test and pre-commercial services. The test result in Tokyo by Softbank has shown that the average download speed can achieve 770Mbps and a peak download speed is over 1Gbps.

- - TD-LTE is the mainstream solution of 3.5GHz spectrum application and utilization. At present, 5 commercial networks of 3.5GHz have already been deployed globally; and more than 20 operators from Europe, America, Asia, Africa, etc. are actively planning their commercial networks of 3.5GHz deployment.

- - Key players of infrastructures, terminals and chipsets all launched products which support 3.5GHz including over 40 types of terminals. However, compared with 2.6GHz and 2.3GHz, there are still lots of work for building strong 3.5GHz ecosystem. Industrial community, especially industries of terminals and chips are expected to make more contributions.

- - Ericsson has expressed their strong support to the industry development of 3.5GHz TD-LTE, and committed to make closer cooperation with other manufactures to create more products which support 3.5GHz TDD, to further satisfy the demand of mobile broadband explosive development. Other representatives also advocated that more operators of 3.5GHz should be involved in GTI to jointly promote the commercial process of 3.5GHz with unified requirements.
