Mr. Zhao Houlin, Secretary General of ITU, highlighted in the opening speech that 5G is a leading technology in the new generation of ICT, acting as a key information infrastructure in supporting the digital, networked, and intelligent transformation of the economy and society. He noted spectrum resources are key to promoting 5G, and the mid-band spectrum is a well-recognized "golden" spectrum for 5G by global operators. We should promote regional and global coordination to ensure the rational, fair, efficient and affordable use of spectrum resources.
