Madam Lara Dewar, the CMO of GSMA, shared the 5G TDD spectrum insight and industry chain development. As she noted, today 5.3 billion people, or 67% of the world’s population have access to a mobile phone, and by the end of this year, there will be 1 billion 5G connections around the world. By 2030, it’s expected that 5G will contribute $960 billion to global GDP. Mid-band spectrum capacity will drive some of the most advanced applications of 5G and the way that mid-band is assigned will impact digital inclusion. She called on global plans to make an average of 2GHz of mid-band spectrum available between 2025 and 2030.
