Samsung eNodeBs are a key component of Smart LTE Networks™. Available in multiple configurations – distributed, centralized and hybrid base stations – and for both FDD and TDD networks. Innovative eNodeB technology will provide operators with high capacity and cell-edge throughput. Reduced interference ensures a significantly smoother handover between cells.
Multi-standard Samsung MBS
Samsung MBS is a compact, multi-standard base station that represents an all-in-one solution for operator network access requirements. It is easy to deploy and offers superior performance to previous base transceiver stations (BTS). In addition, it is a more cost-effective solution to conventional BTSs. The Samsung MBS incorporates a range of features, including Software Defined Radio (SDR), multi-standard baseband units and integrated backhaul, which combine to reduce your network\'s capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX). Samsung MBS also has a small environmental footprint and reduces the costs of site rental, maintenance and power consumption for the network.
Proven Performer In Data-Intensive Networks
The Samsung Samsung MBS is flexible enough to efficiently cover any network needs. It reduces the number of BTSs required by supporting all generations of radio technologies in one single cabinet. The highly optimised modem chipset produced by Samsung creates higher performance and superior reliability with a more advanced feature set. Samsung MBS offers the flexibility to migrate to 4G technology at any time, and has already served the world\'s most data-intensive markets, such as the USA and Korea.
Common Platform for all 3GPP and 3GPP2 Technologies
The Samsung MBS conveniently supports the entire GSM and CDMA family of wireless technologies, and is specifically designed to migrate seamlessly to next-generation standards including TD-LTE and FDD-LTE. By aggregating these multiple networks into a single Digital Unit (DU), the Samsung MBS simplifies network access at the same time as broadening its potential. The wide bandwidth radio units support multiple technologies simultaneously, which can be changed by simply upgrading software. In addition, the DU provides a flexible integrated backhaul that works with both optic and Ethernet cables.
High-Capacity Digital Units
Our innovative Samsung MBS DU supports gigabit throughputs to deliver high capacity in an extremely cost-effective way. Ensuring that the network leaves a minimal carbon footprint by reducing site rental, maintenance and power consumption costs, operators can be guaranteed peace of mind.
Radio Heads
The Samsung Remote Radio Head (RRH) is a multi-technology solution that is optimised for efficient wireless network operations. It is compact and lightweight, making it extremely easy to install. Our RRHs offers a full software defined radio (SDR), along with a range of additional features that enhance connectivity whilst reducing interference, resulting in an economical and reliable network.
High Performance
Samsung RRHs offer flexibility and high performance thanks to its extensive features, including multi-mode, multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO), multi-carrier and wide instantaneous bandwidth (IBW). For such a high-performing base station, the Samsung RRH is compact, lightweight and easy to install.
Multi-Mode
Samsung\'s dual-mode with full SDR capability delivers a cost-effective solution and allows for smooth technology migrations. Our RRH\'s are available in multiple configurations including GSM/LTE, CDMA/LTE, WCDMA/LTE, etc.
Compact and Lightweight
At Samsung, we have experience of deploying several hundreds of RRHs daily across South Korea. In order to meet the rigorous demands of such intensive activity, we have designed a compact and lightweight solution that guarantees easy installation and rapid deployment. This reduces any potentially costly interruptions to operator network deployments.
High Power Output
Samsung RRHs offer extended coverage by using high-power transmission and high-order MIMO. This drastically reduces network CAPEX and OPEX while improving subscriber experience. As the coverage area is increased, deployment costs are kept significantly lower by minimising total units.
Wide Instantaneous Bandwidth
Samsung\'s RRH technology allows for high capacity deployments of multiple standards within one RRH. There are minimal spurious radio emissions, resulting in a reduction in interference and better compliance with regulations, boosting the Samsung RRH\'s performance yet further.
