DISH Network to trial TD-LTE with Sprint
US pay-TV operator DISH Network will launch trials of Time Division Long Term Evolution (TD-LTE) technology in mid-2014 under a partnership with Sprint. The company will deploy a 4G fixed wireless broadband network in the city of Corpus Christi, Texas by the middle of next year, using Sprint’s 2.5GHz spectrum, telegeography.com reported on Wednesday.
"This trial with DISH has great potential as it combines the key capabilities and assets of both companies to provide another option to customers with limited broadband access,” said Michael Schwartz, Sprint’s senior vice president of corporate and business development.
