LTE phones comprised 7.5% of 2013 Russian smartphone sales
Smartphones supporting Russian LTE networks accounted for 7.5 percent of smartphone sales in unit terms in Russia in 2013, reports Digit.ru citing a statement from mobile retail chain Svyaznoy. The rate was 5.5 percent in the third quarter and 3 percent in the first half of 2013.
In the third quarter, the share of smartphones that supported any LTE network was 11 percent of units sold, or 1.2 million devices, and the sales volume was 23 percent of the whole smartphone sales volume. The rates were expected to total 13 percent and 26 percent respectively by the end of 2013. Almost a half of the devices only supported Russian LTE network.
