Lithuanian mobile operator Omnitel announced that the coverage of its 3G network is the widest among Lithuanian mobile operators, according to the most recent data from the national telecommunications regulator RRT.

The operator notes that the data from the regulator as of 1 December 2013 didn\'t include 165 Omnitel base stations deployed at the end of 2013. The operator has already upgraded its network in the area covering over 80 percent of its subscribers in order to introduce 3G technology.

Omnitel plans to cover the whole country\'s area with its 3G network this year. The operator also claims that the coverage of its LTE network is higher than other Lithuanian mobile operators. Omnitel plans to cover an area comprising half of Lithuanian residents with its LTE network this year.
